The following information was supplied by Larry "Brushface" This photo of N-100X is 53-1688, an F-100A. I believe the photo was taken at Long Beach, California, as that is where it was flown mostly until it was transferred to TRACOR Flt. Systems at Mojave, California, where they flew it for a number of years. It sat on the ramp by Flight Ops for a number of years and was painted white and blue. It was then moved out into the desert where it now sits awaiting the Junk Man. It was supposed to have been traded for the present F-4 now sitting in its place. For some reason it hasn't been moved in over 20 years. Some IDIOT opened the canopy and couldn't figure out how to close it after activating the manual release and then tied the canopy down with a rope, which helps some. They probably were stripping the cockpit of parts. At any rate it is just sitting there intact still with the engine and four flat tires or at least it was several years ago.
