Head-on photo of F-100D 56-2989 in a revetment at Phan Rang AB, Republic of Vietnam. Information supplied by Larry Brusface: 56-2989 ended as a QF 220 at Tyndall AFB, FL. I believe that it was shot down on 6 June, 1987. (Somebody sent a photo of it, but the photo captions did not include the kill date.) Note by Brusface: Already shown destroyed QF-220, 6 June, 1987, at Tyndall. However, the nose gear door indicates the aircraft was assigned to 113 Indiana ANG 181 TFG at Hulman Field, Indiana. Their aircraft carried red, white, blue on the tip of the tail and also on the nose gear door.

QF-100D 56-2989 at Tyndall AFB 1986-1988. This is probably one of the last pictures ever taken of the aircraft. I retired in Aug of 1989 and I believe the QF-106 replaced the F-100 in about 1991 or 92. Based on the colors on the nose gear door, this aircraft may have been a Texas or Indiana Air Guard airplane before it went to the bone yard.
