This picture of 56-3285 shows a 1/48 scale F-100D model of Pretty Penny, as flown by 1/Lt. Jerry Salome in 1965. (Based at Tan Son Nhut AB, 481st TFS.) Pretty Penny was named after Jerry Salome's wife. The art on this F-100's nose was done by Pete Vanderhoef. (Information provided by Dale Sprotberry, who added that "Jerry passed away in the spring of 1993. Penny lives in Las Cruces, NM. We were part of the 481 TFS that deployed to Tan Son Nhut in June 1965. We all flew this aircraft. We have a reunion about every 3 to 4 years. The last one was in Branson, MO, in 2003.")
