The photo of the small (1/72 scale) model you see here depicts the paint scheme of the F-100D assigned to the ***** TFW, **** TFS in 19**. (Italeri kit with Revell/Monogram-Germany decals. I used various shades of Bare Metail Foil Co. sheets to create the aluminum skin.) This aircraft served in the Missouri Air National Guard in the 70s.

Picture of 56-3327 in 1968 at Wethersfield AB, England. Notice the vent on the vertical stabilizer? This and 326 were the only F-100s that I ever saw that had it. Some pilots said it made the aircraft fly sideways, but most never complained.

This picture of 56-3327 was taken at Wheelus AB, Lybia, in 1968. We deployed there several times a year for gunnery exercises. While at Wheelus, the guns were bore-sighted on a range out near the Rod and Gun club. We were bore-sighting one night and the weapons troops asked if I would like to fire the guns. It was quite impressive at night.
