I (John Hennigar) took this photo of F-100 56-3369 (31st TFW) having the 20mm guns cleared after a mission at Tuy Hoa, around July, 1970. I took this photo with a Minolta SRT-101 w/f1.4 lens (my first SLR), after upgrading from a Kodak cartridge camera. I still have the Minolta. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the guy in the photo. Note by Larry "Brushface": 56-3369 ended as Target Drone QF-170 on 26 November, 1986. She was last flown by the 110 MO ANG.

3369 Flying out of Tuy Hoa, 355 TFS, 1968 Note by Larry "Brushface": 56-3369 ended as Target Drone QF-170 on 26 November, 1986. She was last flown by the 110 MO ANG. Note by Joe Vincent: Photo 1129 (Bob Rowan) is of a plane that was in the 309th when I was at Tuy Hoa. SS-369 was definitely in our squadron, and had the SS tail codes too. I also notice that this is the only photo I have ever seen of the centerline camera pod installed. Most pilots didn't like hauling around that drag. It made great fore and aft movies, but was too easy to inadvertently jettison, which became a Broken Arrow (nuke incident) because it was wired through the nuke weapons control panels and pylon. Comment by Bob Rowan: I was not aware that aircraft 56-3369 had been transferred out of the 355 TFS. After some research, I found out that it was transferred to the 50th TFW on 21 November 1964, and then to the 31st TFW on 18 June 1966.

3369 assigned to the MO ANG, 1977. Note by Larry "Brushface": 56-3369 ended as Target Drone QF-170 on 26 November, 1986. She was last flown by the 110 MO ANG. Comment by Dale Jensen: This picture must have been taken at Des Moines. I know, because the fenced-in perimeter road goes from the main base complex, past the flight line, to a satellite location northwest of the main base. Among other things, the chow hall was at the satellite location. In the background is runway 13/31. A short distance northwest (right) of the photo location was a parking spot where people could park and watch planes land and takeoff.
