The color photo shows Lt.Col. Yeager’s F-100F while he was stationed at George AFB in Victorville, CA. Lt.Col. (now General) Yeager reported to George AFB in April 1957. (Information supplied by Ole Nikolajson.)

Comment by Pete Felts: If I'm not mistaken, the back-seater with Yeager is Capt. Louis Batson. We followed the 1st FDS to Moron with the 21st FDS. Actually, by then we were considered a TFS but still under the 413th TFW. We didn't become the 31st TFW until 1959. I went to Aviano with the 306th in 1960. (And yes,56-3950 did have "City of Barstow" painted on the nose in red background with white letters.)
